Welcome to your church home

We sincerely hope that we can be of service to you in your journey of faith.  We are a warm, caring congregation with a long history of service to the Southern Maryland Community.

The Discipleship Adventure is important to who we are and how we are organized.  We invite you to join us in the exhilarating and life-giving adventure.

We encourage you to explore our website to discover all that we have to offer, and we hope to see you at worship on Sunday morning.

“Worshiping and growing in fellowship & knowledge of Christ. Maturing from membership to discipleship: for us, others, and for Jesus’ sake.”

Ever Wonder...

Be sure to check out our newest feature: "Ever Wonder..."  It is a place where common questions about our faith and the workings of the church are explained in video and text.  Videos are courtesy of "Chuck Knows Church".  Check them out on our Guests & Newcomer's Page.

God's Love

Think of the people who are closest to you: your spouse, your children or parents, your grandchildren. Think about the sacrifices you have already made for them. We make these sacrifices willingly because we love them. We will likely make many more sacrifices in our lifetime for the people we love. Jesus also made a sacrifice for ‍‍‍the people he loves: you and me. Jesus tells his disciples about his love, and compares his love for us,as a shepherd loves, cares for and sacrifices for the sake of the sheep. This week Rev. Jones will share his message, “For Our Loved Ones” in which he will help us think about how much God loves us.

Pastor's Monday Night Study

Creed

Pastor Bruce’s next Monday Night Study will be a look at our Apostles’Creed. What do we believe as Christians, and why do we hold these thingsto be foundations of our faith? Using a new book by Adam Hamilton, Rev.Jones will lead this six-week class that begins on Monday, March 19. Itwill run every Monday through April 30. This is the last formal class thatPastor Bruce will be teaching.

Silent Auction - April 21

CLICK ANYWHERE IN THIS BOX TO SEE A PREVIEW OF AUCTION ITEMS (UPDATED REGULARLY).

Auction Tickets are now on sale in the church office. They will be available after worship services beginning on Sunday, March 28. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. This is a major fund-raiser for the church, and tickets are not just forgetting bid numbers, but to help cover the cost of food, so everyone (adults and children) needs to purchase a ticket to enter the auction. Buy one for yourself, and one for your neighbor, it’s a wonderful way to introduce your neighbor to your church family.

Sheriff's Prayer Breakfast

One of the things that our Sheriff, Troy Berry, instituted when he arrived was a Sheriff’s Prayer Breakfast to bring officers together with pastors from around the county to pray for the safety and well being of our officers and our communities. This event has grown over the past two years, nearly filling the old fellowship hall last year. So we have planned for this year’s breakfast to be held in FH2. This year many of our Pastor’s Prayer Partners will also be in attendance, and the event is open to all. Pastors from many area churches are coming, and County Sheriff’s ‍‍‍Officers are also coming to pray together, to be prayed for,and to lift up our communities asking God to bring peace, cooperation, and harmony between citizens and peacekeepers. The breakfast this year is this Thursday, April 26, at 8:00 AM.
